Named Access Control List Permissions

Access for viewing the selected access control list can be defined on the Permissions tab. The selected list can be made invisible to certain users.

Note: The system administrator and all users with full administrative access to the document vault in question always see all the named access control lists.

Adjusting Permissions

  1. Open M-Files Admin.
  2. In the left-side tree view, expand a connection to M-Files server.
  3. Expand Document Vaults.
  4. Expand a vault.
  5. Click a node that contains items that you want to edit. For example, Users.
  6. Select an item in the listing area.
  7. Right-click the item and click Properties.
  8. Go to the Permissions tab.
  9. In Users and user groups, select the user or user group whose permissions you want to adjust.
    If the user or user group is not on the list, click Add to add the user or user group to the list.
  10. Select one of these options:
    • Select the Allow check box to allow the selected user to see this item.
      or
    • Select the Deny check box to deny the selected user from seeing this item.
  11. Optional: If you want to adjust additional permissions, repeat the steps from 7 to 10.
  12. Click OK.
