Electronic Filing With Easy Connection to Existing Databases

Posted on August 26, 2009 under Uncategorized by

Mangold CPA, PC, an Austin-based accounting firm, stores the annual accounting paperwork for hundreds of clients in its M-Files document management vault, making it easy to locate the right tax documents when CPAs need them.

The electronic filing software makes it easy to track imaging scans of paper documents and digital client files because M-Files tags each document with relevant and easily searchable key terms, such as client name and account number, along with more specific document descriptors such as tax year, category, or status of document.

What makes this tagging so simple is that in many cases employees don’t have to remember this information when saving or querying – it’s displayed in M-Files as drop-down menus and autofill. Client attributes came from a link to Mangold’s existing billing software BillQuick.   Because of this easy database integration, CPAs can hunt down files through queries based on any piece of client information already entered into BillQuick.
